Sus­pect ar­rested af­ter stab­bing

A 51-year-old sus­pect has been ar­rested and is fac­ing charges af­ter a man was stabbed at a St. Catharines home, and two women were in­jured. Of­fi­cers from 1-District St. Catharines along with EMS re­sponded to a dis­tur­bance call at ap­prox­i­mately 8:30 a.m. Thurs­day at a res­i­dence in the area of Old Pine Trail and Vine Street in the City of St. Catharines. Fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion has re­vealed an al­ter­ca­tion led to a 32-year-old man be­ing as­saulted and stabbed. The vic­tim was trans­ported via air am­bu­lance to an out-of-town hospi­tal for treat­ment of se­ri­ous but non-life threat­en­ing in­juries. Two women were also treated at the scene with mi­nor in­juries. Charles Martin, 51, of St. Catharines, was ar­rested and charged with ag­gra­vated as­sault, fol­low­ing the in­ci­dent.
