Gazebo Tony’s fall from grace

RE: TONY CLEMENT BOOTED FROM CONSERVATIVE CAUCUS AMID ALLEGATIONS OF SEXUAL IMPROPRIETY, NOV. 7

It’s almost funny. Tony Clement threw $50 million of our taxpayer dollars around various ridings, including his Muskoka riding, seven or eight years ago as part of the G8 Legacy Infrastructure spending; awarding his buddies with lots of dough to spruce up Huntsville and other sites.

He claimed in Parliament that it was “investment in infrastructure to reduce border congestion.” Yup, a few new gazebos in Muskoka would certainly reduce traffic at the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie.

Response from Muskoka voters and other Canadians? Yawn.

Now, a really immensely stupid idiocy involving sex, and the whole country goes nuts.

I’m not sad to see Gazebo Tony’s political aspirations go down in flames, but I would have much preferred it to be the result of throwing our taxpayer dollars around Muskoka.
