He was helpful, at least
Jerry Osmond, 54, of St. John’s called the RNC around 10 p.m. Wednesday with a report of a crime: his own. Osmond, who was under court orders to stay away from alcohol, phoned the police to let them know he was about to breach those orders. When police arrived at his home in the centre of the city, they found he had been telling the truth, and he was promptly arrested. Osmond appeared in provincial court Thursday morning on four counts of breaching court orders, which had been given to him Sept. 5 after he was released to await a court appearance on a mischief charge.
Osmond was again released from custody, and will make his next court appearance Sept. 20.
