Province launches vehicle efficiency and cost calculator
A new tool is available to motorists in Newfoundland and Labrador to help better understand the effects of driving on the environment. The provincial government launched the vehicle efficiency and cost calculator on Thursday.
Using the calculator, which can be found on the province’s Turn Back the Tide website on climate change, residents can compare the user costs and the impacts of different types of gasoline, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles.
The calculator will help people make informed decisions and reduce their carbon footprint, Municipal Affairs and Environment Minister Eddie Joyce said in a news release.
“Our government is committed to providing tools to residents so that they can make greener choices when purchasing a vehicle,” he said.
