Charged with as­sault, ut­ter­ing threats, mis­chief

Alexan­der Nathaniel Letiec re­leased from cus­tody

Alexan­der Nathaniel Letiec, a 61 year-old North West River, Labrador man was re­leased on con­di­tions when he ap­peared in Stephenville pro­vin­cial court on Thurs­day.

It was about 9:45 p.m. on Wed­nes­day that mem­bers of the Bay St. Ge­orge RCMP re­sponded to a dis­tur­bance on Gor­don Cres­cent in Stephenville and ar­rested Letiec af­ter at­tend­ing the res­i­dence, charg­ing him with as­sault, ut­ter­ing threats and mis­chief.

His re­lease con­di­tions in­clude that he keep the peace and be of good be­hav­iour, stay away from the vic­tim, re­frain from be­ing in the com­pany of any­one with a crim­i­nal record, ab­stain from al­co­hol and present him­self to the door on re­quest by po­lice.

Letiec’s next court ap­pear­ance is set for Nov. 20.
