Curl­ing, NL Jan. 15, 1925 - Nov. 11, 2017 Passed peace­fully away at home on Satur­day, Novem­ber 11th, Is­abelle Barry. Pre­de­ceased by her par­ents Ed­ward (Ned) and Anna (Chafe) Barry, sis­ters: Emma (Brown), Mary (Boyd); and broth­ers: Jack, Gus, Kevin, Ed­ward, baby Ed­ward; broth­ers-in-law Guy Boyd, Dick Brown and sis­ters-in­law Evange (Cole­man), Roxie (Pen­ney). Left to cher­ish her mem­ory are her brother David, sis­ters-in-law: Rita (Gus), Kathleen (Kevin), nieces and neph­ews: Bar­bara, Joanne, Mau­reen, Mary, Frances, Eileen, Christyne, David, Ed­ward, Kevin, Keith and Jen­nifer (Emma and Dick's chil­dren); Ed­die, Char­lie, Cathy, Carol, Judy, and Ber­nice (Mary and Guy's chil­dren); Martha and Richard (Gus and Rita's chil­dren); Mary Carolyn, Joan and John (Jack and Evange's chil­dren); Estelle, Clare, Ann Marie, Mary, El­iz­a­beth and Jane (Kevin and Kathleen's chil­dren); spe­cial cousins Ed­die Chafe and Brenda McCarthy; many great-nieces and neph­ews; cousins; and a close cir­cle of dear friends. Is­abelle was cu­ri­ous, fiercely in­tel­li­gent, kind and de­voted to her large, ex­tended fam­ily. She grad­u­ated from Dal­housie Univer­sity with a B.Sc. and worked as a Lab Tech­ni­cian in the US for many years be­fore re­turn­ing home to Curl­ing where she cared for her par­ents. She com­pleted a M. Ed. at Me­mo­rial Univer­sity and worked as a teacher and sub­sti­tute teacher. She had a keen wit and sense of ad­ven­ture, trav­el­ling ex­ten­sively, of­ten on her own. Most of all, she was an in­de­pen­dent spirit and a good friend to all she loved. Rest­ing at Fil­la­tre's Fu­neral Home, Curl­ing Street. Vis­i­ta­tion Tues­day, Novem­ber 14th from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Fu­neral Mass will take place at Sa­cred Heart Par­ish on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 15th at 10:30 AM with Fa­ther Ed­ward Terry of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment to fol­low at Ro­man Catholic Ceme­tery, Curl­ing. As ex­pres­sions of sym­pa­thy, flow­ers are gra­ciously ac­cepted or do­na­tions may be made to Sa­cred Heart Par­ish.
