Mariners cap­ture touch foot­ball crown

Harry Pat­ter­son con­nected with three dif­fer­ent re­ceivers on Sun­day even­ing as Ma­rine Lounge downed the Golden Go­phers 19-6 to take the Corner Brook Coors Light Touch Foot­ball League ti­tle.

Robert Wheeler, Paul Pros­per and Rob Park all found pay dirt in the end zone in the cham­pi­onship vic­tory at Welling­ton Street Sports Com­plex. Pros­per also scored a point via a rouge.

Adam An­der­son recorded an in­ter­cep­tion on the de­fen­sive side of the ball for the vic­tors.

The only of­fence for the Go­phers came from the de­fence, as Tyler Wise­man scored on a pick-six. Mike Tavenor also came down with an in­ter­cep­tion, while An­der­son Tra­verse had two sacks. The Ma­rine Lounge are Corner Brook Coors Light Touch Foot­ball League cham­pi­ons af­ter a 19- 6 vic­tory over the Golden Go­phers Sun­day.
