The Western Brain Injury Stroke Survivor (WBISS) support group meets every second Tuesday from 1:30-3 p.m. The meetings are held at the Pollett Room at Corner Brook City Hall. This is a small, intimate group that focuses on support, growth and healing. Feel free to join us. Refreshments will be served.
The Mount Moriah Recreational Committee will hold weekly card games, 8 p.m. every Tuesday night at the Mount Moriah Community Hall.
Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience strength and hope in order to solve their common problem. Al-Anon meetings take place in Corner Brook on Tuesday evenings at 8:30 pm, at Holy Redeemer Church basement, Mount Bernard Road and on Thursday mornings at 11 a.m. at St John the Evangelist Church basement on Main St.
The Salvation Army is looking for donations. It is in need of skates, winter boots, coats, household items, linens and men’s clothing.
The Corner Brook Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Aga Smies, is available to support good causes and park concert. The band is always interested in attracting mature and skilled musicians playing instruments fitting in a big band. The Salvation Army Thrift Store at 6 Herald Ave., is asking for your donations of good quality, gently used clothing. Your faithful support helps the thrift store and helps others within the community. Donations are accepted at the store Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A bin is provided for after hours clothing donations only.
