Sus­pi­cious death

The Royal New­found­land Con­stab­u­lary’s (RNC) ma­jor crime unit is in­ves­ti­gat­ing the sus­pi­cious death of a 45-year-old woman in St. John’s. On Wed­nes­day at about 10:40 p.m., po­lice and paramedics were called to a unit in an apart­ment build­ing on Bay Bulls Road to a re­port of a sud­den death.

The woman was pro­nounced de­ceased on ar­rival by paramedics. In­ves­ti­ga­tors with the RNC ma­jor crime unit be­lieve the cir­cum­stances around this death are sus­pi­cious in na­ture and are work­ing with the of­fice of the chief med­i­cal ex­am­iner to de­ter­mine the cause of death. Po­lice se­cured the area in which the death oc­curred pend­ing the med­i­cal ex­am­iner’s re­port. In­ves­ti­ga­tors have been in the area through­out the day can­vass­ing and speak­ing with neigh­bours.
