Tar-and-chip con­tract awarded

Sev­eral tar-and-chip roads in the town­ship are slated for a fresh sur­face treat­ment this sum­mer, with coun­cil de­cid­ing Tues­day night the work will be car­ried out by Dun­cor En­ter­prises at a cost of $180,000.

Near Bres­lau, a fresh layer will be ap­plied to por­tions of Hopewell Creek Road and Spitzig Road. In Flo­radale, it’ll be Flo­rap­ine Road. Also on the list is Ken­ning Place north of Elmira, and El­dale Road.

Over­all, the town­ship has some 44 kilo­me­tres of tar-and-chip roads, which re­ceive a new sur­face treat­ment on a five- to seven-year cy­cle.
