Home Hard­ware hosts golf tourney

Ap­prox­i­mately 600 Home Hard­ware dealer-own­ers, staff, sup­pli­ers and friends teed up for char­ity last week for the Home Hard­ware An­nual Char­ity Golf Tour­na­ment in sup­port of Alzheimer So­ci­ety Water­loo Welling­ton.

Golfers hit the links at four cour­ses across Water­loo Re­gion, in­clud­ing Elmira Golf Club, Grey Silo Golf Club, Rebel Creek Golf Club and Whis­tle Bear Golf Club.

Last year’s event raised more than $70,000 .

“Home Hard­ware has al­ways made giv­ing back to our com­mu­ni­ties a sig­nif­i­cant part of our cul­ture,” says Terry Davis, CEO, Home Hard­ware Stores Ltd. “This event is a great op­por­tu­nity to bring to­gether our peo­ple and part­ners for a day of fun, while rais­ing money for the Alzheimer So­ci­ety Water­loo Welling­ton, an or­ga­ni­za­tion ded­i­cated to im­prov­ing the qual­ity of life for Cana­di­ans liv­ing with Alzheimer’s dis­ease and other de­men­tias. I’m es­pe­cially grate­ful to our vol­un­teers and spon­sors for help­ing to make this tour­na­ment a suc­cess.”

In the past 19 years, Home Hard­ware’s an­nual tour­na­ment has raised nearly $570,000 for var­i­ous lo­cal char­i­ties. Home Hard­ware pledges a two-year com­mit­ment to a lo­cal char­ity and part­ners to plan and ex­e­cute the event. Pro­ceeds from the up­com­ing 2018 golf tour­na­ment will go to­wards KW Coun­selling Ser­vices.
