Home Hardware hosts golf tourney
Approximately 600 Home Hardware dealer-owners, staff, suppliers and friends teed up for charity last week for the Home Hardware Annual Charity Golf Tournament in support of Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington.
Golfers hit the links at four courses across Waterloo Region, including Elmira Golf Club, Grey Silo Golf Club, Rebel Creek Golf Club and Whistle Bear Golf Club.
Last year’s event raised more than $70,000 .
“Home Hardware has always made giving back to our communities a significant part of our culture,” says Terry Davis, CEO, Home Hardware Stores Ltd. “This event is a great opportunity to bring together our people and partners for a day of fun, while raising money for the Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Canadians living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. I’m especially grateful to our volunteers and sponsors for helping to make this tournament a success.”
In the past 19 years, Home Hardware’s annual tournament has raised nearly $570,000 for various local charities. Home Hardware pledges a two-year commitment to a local charity and partners to plan and execute the event. Proceeds from the upcoming 2018 golf tournament will go towards KW Counselling Services.
