New cul­vert on Flo­radale Rd.

A stretch of Flo­radale Road will be closed for the bet­ter part of two months this sum­mer as Wool­wich re­places a cul­vert north of Sandy Hills Drive.

Work is ex­pected to get un­der­way July 3, fin­ish­ing around Au­gust 28.

Meet­ing this week, ap­proved spend­ing $739,000 to carry out the re­place­ment of the ex­ist­ing con­crete arch struc­ture, which was built in 1913. Steed and Evans will be paid $654,000 to the con­struc­tion work, while GM BluePlan En­gi­neer­ing will get $73,000 to ad­min­is­ter the project.

The cul­vert crosses a small creek north of Sandy Hills Drive and ap­prox­i­mately 425 me­tres south of Cedar Spring Road.
