1:04 AM | A 20-year-old Cam­bridge woman driv­ing a grey Mazda trav­el­ling north­bound on Arthur Street at the Sawmill Road round­about was in­volved in a sin­gle-ve­hi­cle col­li­sion. The driver stated she fell asleep and veered off the road­way, slid­ing into the ditch. A passerby no­ticed the tail­lights in the ditch and stopped to as­sist. Po­lice were con­tacted and re­sponded to the scene, sub­se­quently charg­ing the woman with ‘care­less driv­ing.’ No in­juries re­ported and the ve­hi­cle was towed from the scene.

1:44 PM | A 60-year-old Cam­bridge man driv­ing a black Nis­san van north­bound on King Street in St. Jacobs came to a stop as he waited to turn left onto Prin­tery Road when he was struck from be­hind by a mo­tor­cy­cle. The 82-year-old man was rid­ing the black Honda mo­tor­cy­cle sus­tained mi­nor in­juries and was trans­ported to hospi­tal. He was charged with ‘care­less driv­ing.’ 2:17 PM | Some­time be­tween 9 and 9:45 p.m., an un­known sus­pect en­tered Scrub­bles Laun­dry on Ori­ole Park­way West in Elmira and at­tempted to break into var­i­ous pieces of equip­ment. The sus­pect is de­scribed as a white male teenager, wear­ing a grey win­ter toque, a two-tone blue hoodie and track pants, car­ry­ing a back­pack. Po­lice are ask­ing any­one with in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing this at­tempted theft to con­tact the Water­loo Re­gional Po­lice ru­ral de­tach­ment at 519570-9777 or Crime Stop­pers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). 4:00 PM | Welling­ton County OPP re­sponded to a se­ri­ous work­place in­jury in Elora. Ini­tial re­ports in­di­cated that a 27-year-old male had sus­tained se­ri­ous trauma to his right hand while op­er­at­ing a mill. OPP as well as Cen­tre Welling­ton Fire Res­cue and Guelph-Welling­ton Paramedics Ser­vices at­tended and treated the pa­tient. He was trans­ported to a lo­cal hospi­tal with se­ri­ous in­juries and then air­lifted to a trauma cen­tre. The Min­istry of Labour (MOL) is in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
