2:00 AM | A Welling­ton County OPP of­fi­cer was mon­i­tor­ing traf­fic on Tower Street South, Fergus. The of­fi­cer stopped the driver of a white hatch­back for a driv­ing in­frac­tion. While speak­ing with the fe­male driver, of­fi­cers formed the opin­ion that she was un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol. A road­side screen­ing test was con­ducted which re­sulted in a fail. She was ar­rested and brought to a lo­cal OPP oper­a­tions cen­tre for fur­ther test­ing. The 48-year-old Kitch­ener res­i­dent was charged with ‘driv­ing with over 80 mgs of al­co­hol in 100mL of blood.’ A 90-day li­cence sus­pen­sion and seven-day ve­hi­cle im­pound­ment were ini­ti­ated as per statute. She is sched­uled to ap­pear in Guelph Crim­i­nal Court on July 6. 9:26 PM | Un­known sus­pect(s) stole a li­cence plate off of a ve­hi­cle parked in a lot on Ori­ole Park­way East in Elmira some­time be­tween 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. Po­lice ask any­one with in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing this theft to con­tact Crime Stop­pers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
