The controversial ghost of amalgamation visited Wellesley on Devil’s Night but was quickly dispatched by councillors eager to exorcise the demon forever. Prompted by a letter from Cambridge Mayor Doug Craig, councillors meeting Oct. 30 voted to drive a nail in the casket of the latest drive for one-tier government in Waterloo Region. Council endorsed Craig’s condemnation of the actions and mandate of Citizens for Better Government (CFBG).
