Nancy Pickard, the GM, ap­proached them to open a res­tau­rant that would pro­vide fine din­ing, qual­ity food and ser­vice with the com­fort of a pub; thus The Auld Spot on Dan­forth was born. Af­ter sell­ing, they con­tin­ued the con­cept with The Abbot at 3367 Yonge Street. The Eglin­ton Way seemed a per­fect fit for this style of res­tau­rant and The Abbot on Eglin­ton has proven this to be true! The res­tau­rant busi­ness can be dif­fi­cult but it comes nat­u­rally to Chris and Car­rie. Both have been in the busi­ness since they were teenagers! Ev­ery­thing served at The Abbot on Eglin­ton is made in house, from baked breads to lo­cally sourced house butchered meats to de­li­cious desserts. The kitchen team is ex­tremely tal­ented and they el­e­vate sim­ple, tra­di­tional dishes into great meals. They of­fer a wide ar­ray of beers on tap and an ex­ten­sive wine list. Chris and Car­rie claim their suc­cess is due to a great staff and clien­tele. "A neigh­bor­hood res­tau­rant is mea­sured by its reg­u­lar clien­tele. Thanks to our won­der­ful staff and our qual­ity of prod­uct and ser­vice we have achieved a great cus­tomer base which grows ev­ery day."
