( YRP) is York Regional Po­lice seek­ing as­sis­tance to lo­cate a male sus­pect wanted in an on­go­ing hu­man traf­fick­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion. Of­fi­cers were called to a ho­tel in Markham af­ter hear­ing of a 20year-old fe­male vic­tim who had been as­saulted by a male sus­pect. In­ves­ti­ga­tors de­ter­mined the vic­tim had been work­ing in the sex trade and was held against her will and as­saulted by the sus­pects. He is wanted on charges of as­sault, traf­fick­ing in per­sons, kid­nap­ping, forcible con­fine­ment and more.

was charged A Thorn­hill res­i­dent in con­nec­tion with a June break-in at a Yorkville res­i­dence. Ac­cord­ing to YRP, the vic­tim was at a work func­tion, and her purse was stolen from a com­mon area. The sus­pect al­legedly used her iden­ti­fi­ca­tion to lo­cate her home ad­dress and broke into her house be­fore 4 p.m. The sus­pect en­coun­tered an­other fe­male vic­tim in­side the home and fled in the first vic­tim’s ve­hi­cle. He was ar­rested in late July and has been charged with theft and break-and-en­ter.

five peo­ple were in­jured At least on the morn­ing of Aug. 18 from a ve­hi­cle slam­ming into the side of Hill­crest Mall. Three of the in­jured, in­clud­ing the driver, were trans­ported to hos­pi­tal by paramedics. Ac­cord­ing to YRP, the driver of a truck was driv­ing in the park­ing lot and ex­pe­ri­enced a med­i­cal emer­gency, caus­ing the ve­hi­cle to drive into the store. It is un­clear what the med­i­cal emer­gency the driver was suf­fer­ing from. All of the in­juries sus­tained were mi­nor.
