From Taiwan to Yonge and Finch

The name really does say it all. Hot-Star Large Fried Chicken, although not particularly poetic, certainly conjures up a specific vision. And perhaps that’s why people have been going cuckoo bananas for it ever since it set up shop at Taiwan’s famed Shilin Night Market back in 1999. Fast-forward a few years, and the brand has expanded all over the place, with locations dotted across the globe. The GTA has a newbie found at 5525 Yonge St. So what’s the big deal? Think incredibly delicious chicken flash fried, available in regular, BBQ or (our fave) crispy permutations. Top it off with an authentic appetizer and you’re good to go. Close your eyes and be transported to Taiwan.
