This summer, kids can take a vacation in horse country — right in the heart of Toronto! Deep in Sunnybrook Park, the equine residents have been teaching children to ride for 39 summers now. Sunnybrook Stables offers children, ages 9-15, summer horsemanship programs which cater to all levels from beginners to more experienced riders. Sunnybrook’s qualified coaches offer children a variety of horse-related activities. Campers receive two riding lessons daily in both flatwork and jumping. The remainder of the day is spent learning about various aspects of barn safety, stable management, grooming and riding theory. Each ten-day session ends with an informal horse show and luncheon where campers can exhibit their new skills to friends and family.
