ALL THE MUSIC

Thornhill Post - - Currents - Five shows we can’t wait to check out at NXNE this month

U.S. GIRLS

Meg Remy and company put out one of the best albums of the past year, In a Poem Unlimited, and this free show, featuring a number of talented Toronto musicians in her band, should be a massive treat for alt-pop fans (June 15, Yonge-Dundas).

NICK FAYE & THE DEPUTIES

If you’re still living in the ’90s and dream of the day a band picks up the indie rock mantle, the wait is over. Nick Faye is nostalgic and fresh at the same time and we love it (June 13, Dakota).

CHRVCHES

Some bands don’t evolve, some bands never stop evolving. Chrvches has never been better than right now, in full command of its serious sonic adventures on its new album, Love Is Dead . This free show will be huge (June 16, Yonge-Dundas).

THE ANTI-QUEENS

Good old garage rock never goes out of style, and this all-female Toronto trio brings a heap of thrashy goodness and a whole lot of fun and attitude to the stage (June 13, Cameron House).

JAZZ CARTIER

This talented Toronto rapper is set to release his latest and seriously anticipated new album Fleurever, and this headlining free show is sure to be one of the top draws of the festival. Get there early (June 15, Yonge-Dundas).
