$52K boost for Salford centre reno
The Canada 150 Community infrastructure Program will pump $52,000 into the Salford Community Centre renovation, South-West Oxford Township announced Saturday.
The estimated $157,000 project will make the centre’s washrooms more accessible, cut water and electricity use, renovate the kitchen to accommodate the aging community and replacing older windows and doors.
The grant, covering one-third of the project, along with a $10,000 grant received this month from a Farm Credit Canada fund and $25,000 raised in the community, brings the total raised to about $87,000, said township chief administrator mary Ellen greb.
The balance will come from township reserves.
