Rainy day at the bridges
tuesday september 4th was a difficult golf day for the tuesday ladies at the bridges at tillsonburg. the 9-hole ladies teed off at their regular time but got less than half of their game in when the skies opened up. it didn’t last all that long, but by the time it let up, the course was drenched and we opted not to return to the course. of course, there’s nothing wrong with catching up with your fellow golfers over lunch.
on the other hand, some of the 18-hole ladies were a little more resilient. after the rain, several of the ladies returned to the course to complete their 18 holes. However, because not everyone chose to complete the 18 holes, prizes were awarded based on scores for the front nine.
in flight “a” phyl lawrence finished first with 30, Carol livingston was second with 31 and Holly reynolds was 3rd with 34.5
in flight “b” Coly Knibbe was first with 29. lil neale was second with 30.5 and stella black was third with 31.
Carol livingston and taye Jackson both had birdies on hole#2.
there is only 1 more week of play in the regular season. don’t forget to sign up for the marion Hevenor tournament and windup up luncheon on september 18th see you on the greens.
the humidity disappeared the for a few hours on the morning of tuesday august 28th, making it a beautifully comfortable day to play golf at the bridges at tillsonburg.
eleven 18-hole ladies played for their total score on the odd numbered holes, with the exception of hole #17. in Flight “a” sue ure and devona allin tied for first with 34. phyl lawrence was second with 35. in Flight “b” Carol livingston was first with 34 and Wendy Coward and taye Jackson tied for second with 36. Wendy Coward had a birdie on hole#5.
twenty-two 9-hole ladies played for total score on the par four holes. mary Fassaert and mary delouche tied for first with 18. marjo Kubera was second with 21 and Judi miesener was third with 22. Congratulations to mary delouche who finished the front nine with a 38! WoW.
it’s hard to believe that it will be september by the time you read this. it’s been an incredible summer, especially if you like the heat. Fortunately we still have a couple of nice months for golf coming up. enjoy.
