Man struck by car has serious injuries

Victoria police are urging drivers to use caution after two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle near Hillside Centre mall on Thursday night.

Two men were taken to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, after they were struck by a vehicle near the intersection of North Dairy Road and Shelbourne Street about 11 p.m.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is co-operating with investigators.

The Victoria police traffic section and a collision reconstruction team remained at the scene for several hours.

Police said it’s too early in the investigation to comment on charges or who was at fault, but noted that rain overnight was making roads slippery.
