Wisest plan is to build Site C
Re: “Site C’s farmland losses are wildly overstated,” comment, July 20. B.C. is a province blessed with rivers that have been successfully developed for hydro power.
In many cases, complete development of a river’s potential has required several individual plants positioned strategically along a river to achieve maximum hydraulic benefit. That has been the case on the Columbia and other rivers in the province and in many river systems around the world. It is certainly the situation with the Peace River, where upstream development is already in place.
Not to complete the project would be most unwise. There are few, if any, major hydro projects remaining in the province.
