B.C.’s surplus should go to pay down the debt

Re: “Premier vows to share the wealth,” Feb. 15.

If the government has a surplus, the most responsibl­e thing to do is pay down the debt. That would lead to lower taxes for future generation­s.

Using this “found money” to buy votes just leads to cynical voters and saddles our children with the debt. S.I. Petersen Nanaimo
