Is­lan­ders should get break on ferry fares

As a rel­a­tive new­comer to the B.C. po­lit­i­cal scene, I won­der if one of the po­lit­i­cal par­ties could take a se­ri­ous look at B.C. Fer­ries and have it give Is­lan­ders some sort of break on fares. As a res­i­dent and tax­payer of Van­cou­ver Is­land, I think that we should be given a dis­count on our fares or, at the very least, one or two free pas­sages per year.

Our use of the ferry sys­tem is of­ten not a mat­ter of choice but of ne­ces­sity, so per­haps some con­sid­er­a­tion could be given to the no­tion that we, through our tax dol­lars, have al­ready paid a por­tion of our fare. Len Dafoe Nanoose Bay
