Will ferry passengers have to sit on the floor?

Re: “B.C. Ferries bedecked with new rules,” Oct. 11.

I am a resident of Victoria and must take the B.C. Ferries to see my son and grandchildren in Sicamous. Now, with the new rules, we can no longer remain in our vehicles on the lower deck.

I have one question for B.C. Ferries. Does this mean you will no longer take more passengers than you have seats available?

I refuse to pay full price for a ticket and then have to sit on the floor. I think that we pay a high price to get on and off the Island, and we deserve a proper seat off the floor. Lynn Larsen Victoria

Foot passengers board a ferry at Swartz Bay. A letter-writer questions whether B.C. Ferries limits the number of tickets sold to ensure that every passenger has a seat above decks.
