One of the subtleties of economics is that if you want to purchase something, you have to acquire the funds to cover the cost.
This seems lost on those who, while demanding more child care, affordable housing, health benefits and teachers, condemn such potential income generators as the enlarged pipeline, new dam and even fish farming.
Instead of paying the corporate welfare, the budget will go for the appropriate programmes. In fact, if anyone knew their economic history, corporations used to pay very hefty taxes to support their countries...until Reaganomics came along. That's when the rich got richer at the expense of the common people.
Please demonstrate how the new dam will generate positive income when we can't sell the power for more than it costs to produce it. I think that might be called a loss -- and all for many billions of dollars!
