Federal Liberals picked wrong time to run deficits
Re: “Federal Liberals addicted to overspending,” column, Oct. 27.
I couldn’t agree more with Lawrie McFarlane’s column about the federal government’s addiction to overspending.
If we have a deficit of $20 billion when times are good, what will it be like when times aren’t so good? We all know it is cyclic.
When times are good, we need to run surpluses and pay down debt, not increase spending in the hope it will buy another election victory. Bring back Paul Martin economics.
