Just re-elected trustee resigning

Hornby Island trustee Tony Law, who was re-elected in the municipal election, has announced he is stepping down from the position.

A statement from Islands Trust, a federation of local island governments, says the resignation stems from “allegations of a personal nature” that recently came to light.

Law has been a trustee for Hornby Island since 1996 and has been the chairman of the Islands Trust Conservancy since 2011.

A spokesman for the trust said no details of the allegations will be made available.

Law’s reasignation will trigger a byelection on Hornby Island.
