The Sidney Summit is a day welcoming the public and 20+ local habitat-caring organizations to discuss how we can support and sustain our Peninsula backyard. Supper at The Summit is an evening of local foods prepared by local chefs with local entertainment celebrating the bounty of the Peninsula and continuing the conversation over a delicious meal. ArtSea Gallery ARTISANS Until Dec. 22
Gallery open Tuesday to Sunday,10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Artisans Show has over 40 participants. This 12-week show showcases the talent of each artist to the community. Jewelry, glass, pottery, turned wood, fibre art, wearables, photography and holiday décor. The show is eclectic, unpredictable and representative of the rich and varied talents of Island artisans.

Guitar Building Workshop McTavish Academy of Art
November Session: Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 24 and 25 February Session: Saturday and Sunday, Feb 9 and 10 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Designed to be educational and deepen one’s knowledge of guitar physics, setup, operations and tolerances. Participants choose their guitar model with options for exotic bodies, necks and fingerboards. Instructor Trevor Woodland will discuss options with participants before the course begins. Saturday will focus on hand carving a neck profile, finish sanding and prep for a handrubbed oil finish. Sunday will focus on fretwork, guitar assembly, wiring and set-up, with each participant walking out of the door with a fully functional guitar. Six participant maximum, for ages 15 to adult.
