Just what planet is Harper living on?

Re Burning all fossil fuels could thaw Antarctica, Sept. 11 Now that a reputable scientific study has estimated that burning all of our fossil fuel reserves would entirely melt Antarctica and lead to a 50-metre rise in sea level, could politicians please start being honest about our energy options? Wouldn’t a first step be admitting that if we don’t want this scenario to occur, we can’t let the market alone decide how much oil we burn?

I know our prime minister thinks a carbon tax is crazy. Well, if in his mind the destruction of all the world’s coastal cities is preferable, I do have to wonder what planet he’s living on. Norm Beach, Toronto
