The Sketches of Helen Weld
Creative Minds event at art gallery
Join Mark Connell and artist Hugh Eamon as they explore Helen Weld’s sketchbooks, which make an important contribution to understanding her lifelong painting career.
This event is part of the Creative Minds series at the Western Branch of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.
In the 1920s, Helen trained at Vassar in New York and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. After the 1930s, she often sketched and painted with her friend Lucy Jarvis at Cape Forchu and other sites around Yarmouth, enriching the artistic and cultural life of Nova Scotia.
This event will take place Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2 pm at the art gallery, located at 341 Main St., Yarmouth.
The Creative Minds series is sponsored by the Friends of the Yarmouth Art Gallery. There is no charge for the event but regular gallery admission applies.
