Digby ATV bridge construction continues
Bridge construction had been delayed because of utility poles
The construction of a steel arch bridge just west of exit 26 in Digby is taking longer than expected.
The bridge is going to connect an ATV rail bed trail so ATV’ers don’t need to illegally cross the highway.
Construction was anticipated to be completed in March.
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure and Renewal said in an email that construction was delayed because crews had to relocate utility poles before parts of the bridge could be built and installed.
The estimated $ 1.9- million project is now expected to be finished later this month.
The ATV bridge is going to connect an ATV rail bed trail. This will stop ATV drivers from crossing the road illegally.
