PAYNTER, George (Carmen) – of Deep Brook, Nova Scotia died peacefully at the Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia on Saturday, September 1st, 2018. Born in Freetown, PEI on January 20, 1939. Loving husband of Brenda Trevors. Brenda was an ardent, faithful wife and best friend who supported Carm in all aspects of his life during these exceptiona­l years. Carmen is also survived by his son Rob (Jackie) of Kelvin Grove, PE; granddaugh­ters Amy and Emily; devoted sister, Marlene Marshall, Charlottet­own, PE; and respected and loved by stepson Jeff Trevors (Kate), Cold Brook, NS. Cherished uncle of Terri Tremblett, Trevor Marshall, Tracey MacIsaac and their families. Predecease­d by his parents, Jack and Gladys Paynter and infant son, Dean. Cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street, Digby, NS. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 15th, 2018 at 7 pm.  ??  ?? – Yarmouth. It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Elinor Blackie at the age of 99. Born August 22, 1919, she was the only daughter to the late Gordon and Anna (Hall) Blackie. Elinor was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She attended Mount Allison University and graduated in 1939 with a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. She was a Home Economics teacher for many years, teaching in the Yarmouth School system and working at the NS Department of Agricultur­e. In accordance with Elinor’s wishes there will be a private Interment in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangemen­ts were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematoriu­m, Yarmouth.
