PAYN­TER, Ge­orge (Car­men) – of Deep Brook, Nova Sco­tia died peace­fully at the Annapolis Com­mu­nity Health Cen­tre, Annapolis Royal, Nova Sco­tia on Satur­day, Septem­ber 1st, 2018. Born in Free­town, PEI on Jan­uary 20, 1939. Lov­ing hus­band of Brenda Trevors. Brenda was an ar­dent, faith­ful wife and best friend who sup­ported Carm in all as­pects of his life dur­ing these ex­cep­tional years. Car­men is also sur­vived by his son Rob (Jackie) of Kelvin Grove, PE; grand­daugh­ters Amy and Emily; de­voted sis­ter, Mar­lene Mar­shall, Char­lot­te­town, PE; and re­spected and loved by step­son Jeff Trevors (Kate), Cold Brook, NS. Cher­ished un­cle of Terri Trem­blett, Trevor Mar­shall, Tracey MacIsaac and their fam­i­lies. Pre­de­ceased by his par­ents, Jack and Gla­dys Payn­ter and in­fant son, Dean. Cre­ma­tion has taken place un­der the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street, Digby, NS. A me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held at the funeral home on Satur­day, Septem­ber 15th, 2018 at 7 pm. – Yar­mouth. It is with great sad­ness we an­nounce the sud­den pass­ing of Eli­nor Blackie at the age of 99. Born Au­gust 22, 1919, she was the only daugh­ter to the late Gor­don and Anna (Hall) Blackie. Eli­nor was the last sur­viv­ing mem­ber of her im­me­di­ate fam­ily. She at­tended Mount Al­li­son Univer­sity and grad­u­ated in 1939 with a bach­e­lor’s de­gree in Home Eco­nom­ics. She was a Home Eco­nom­ics teacher for many years, teach­ing in the Yar­mouth School sys­tem and work­ing at the NS Depart­ment of Agri­cul­ture. In ac­cor­dance with Eli­nor’s wishes there will be a pri­vate In­ter­ment in Yar­mouth Moun­tain Ceme­tery at a later date. Me­mo­rial do­na­tions may be made to the char­ity of your choice.
