BUDD, Es­ther Ruth (Dal­ton)

– Beaver River, passed away Oc­to­ber 3, 2018 in the Val­ley Re­gional Hos­pi­tal at the age of 96, fol­low­ing hip surgery. Born in Spring­dale, NS, April 7, 1922, she was the daugh­ter to the late Amy (Wood) and Al­fred Dal­ton. Es­ther loved her fam­ily and thor­oughly en­joyed the out­doors, gar­den­ing, camp­ing and long walks on the beach, just to name a few.

She en­joyed keep­ing house, loved her fam­ily and friends, who were al­ways wel­come for a meal or a cup of tea. She was al­ways ready with a help­ing hand to all. She was a faith­ful mem­ber of the Beaver River United Bap­tist Church for many years. Es­ther was sweet, gen­er­ous and lov­ing, her per­son­al­ity that even de­men­tia could not ex­tin­guish. She is sur­vived by daugh­ter Sharon; sis­ters Dorothy (Wayne) Prime, Digby; Amy Thomp­son, Shel­burne; as well as many nieces and neph­ews. Be­sides her par­ents she was pre­de­ceased by her lov­ing hus­band James; sis­ter Anna Barr; brothers Ver­non, Ed­ward, Wil­liam, Lawrence, Regi­nald and Ernest. Vis­i­ta­tion was Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 5, 2018, 7-9 pm. from Sweeny’s Fu­neral Home, Yar­mouth. Fu­neral ser­vice was held Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 6, 2018 at 2 pm. also from the Sweeny’s Fu­neral Home Chapel, Yar­mouth, Rev. Keith Moore of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in the Port Mait­land/ Beaver River Ceme­tery fol­low­ing the Ser­vice. Me­mo­rial dona­tions may be made to the Beaver River United Bap­tist Church, Aca­dia Divin­ity Col­lege, Alzheimer’s So­ci­ety or char­ity of your choice. Fu­neral ar­range­ments have been en­trusted to Sweeny’s Fu­neral Home and Cre­ma­to­rium, Yar­mouth.
