THINGS TO KNOW
• N.S. borders have tightened at all entry points and are being closely managed.
• Anyone entering the province must self-isolate for 14 days. Exemptions include healthy truck drivers, healthcare workers and people travelling for essential health services.
• Provincial and municipal parks and beaches are closed. Provincial trails remain open for exercise but gathering limits and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
• Social gatherings of more than five people are prohibited.
• Those exempted from the gathering limits include, but are not limited to, grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies, construction sites, health-care services, community services, criminal justice services and law enforcement.
• Police are authorized to enforce orders under the Health Protection Act with fines broken rules.
• Any workplace or business not deemed essential can remain open as long as a two-metre or six-foot distance can be maintained. Workspaces must also be cleaned and disinfected at a minimum of twice daily or as required.
• Dentists can no longer practice dentistry in their offices unless they deem it necessary to perform an emergency dental procedure.
