Bontrager’s rxl Hilo is among the most versatile of triathlon shoes. With its no-pull-through main strap, wearers get the in-step support of a road shoe with the fast entry and closure of a tri shoe. Unlike the earlier trend of tri shoes which closed on the inside, thereby potentially interfering with the crank or pedal, the rxl Hilo closes conveniently on the outside of the foot. Bontrager’s proprietary last fits snug to your foot optimizing position and power transfer. The stiffness of Bontrager’s Silver Series Carbon soles means verly little energy is wasted from foot to pedal. The experienced triathlete will love the easy-grab heel loop, and rubber band anchor. At just the right size without too excessive bulk, it makes flying mounts hassle-free and safe. A well-ventilated mesh panelling in the arch, lateral side and toe area ensure the wet feet from T1 dry quickly and stay cool. With the standard three-hole cleat setup, the rxl Hilo is ready for most pedals.
