Tommy Let­tner Rises to the Top at Iron­man Florida

Atthe 15th edi­tion of Iron­man Florida, Mis­sis­sauga, Ont.’s Tommy Let­tner led the Cana­dian age group charge by claim­ing top spot in the men’s 70–74 age group. Let­tner opened with a 1:36: 24 swim, rode 6: 27:19 to grab the lead in his age group and ran 5:08:54 to win his cat­e­gory in 13: 29:37. Aurora, Ont.’s Pamela Al­lan took sec­ond in the women’s 35– 39 di­vi­sion by swim­ming 1:14:03, bik­ing 5: 21:06 and run­ning 3:51: 21 to fin­ish in 10:37:55. Mar­garet Wo­j­tow­icz of Belle River, Ont. fin­ished in 16:15:11, which got her third among women 65– 69. David Mathe­son, the 2013 Ul­tra­man Canada cham­pion, swam 1:00: 25, biked 4: 47:06 and ran 3:13:50 for a to­tal time of 9:08:56, which net­ted him fifth in the very com­pet­i­tive men’s 40– 44 age cat­e­gory and 54th over­all.
