Triathlon Canada wel­comes new CEO

Aus­tralian Tim Wil­son steps into the role of Triathlon Canada’s new chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer. Wil­son’s hir­ing is part of Triathlon Canada’s re­build­ing process fol­low­ing the 2012 sum­mer Olympics. South African Libby Bur­rell was hired in Septem­ber 2012 as Triathlon Canada’s high per­for­mance di­rec­tor. In ad­di­tion to a suc­cess­ful busi­ness man­age­ment ca­reer, Wil­son has held nu­mer­ous lead­er­ship po­si­tions within triathlon in his na­tive Aus­tralia, in­clud­ing as na­tional ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of Triathlon Aus­tralia and, most re­cently, he was the head of Triathlon Al­berta. “Tim en­com­passes all of the skills we be­lieve the leader of our or­ga­ni­za­tion should strive to achieve,” said Luc Lan­dri­ault, pres­i­dent, Triathlon Canada. “He is a proven per­former work­ing in a high-per­for­mance en­vi­ron­ment with ath­letes and coaches un­der the most in­tense pres­sure, where he has de­vel­oped and suc­cess­fully ex­e­cuted strate­gic plans de­signed to win medals. He will be a valu­able ad­di­tion to our team.” Wil­son is ready to role out his agenda of achieve­ment stat­ing, “Triathlon Canada is at a very ex­cit­ing stage of de­vel­op­ment. We have a new high-per­for­mance and sport-de­vel­op­ment staff, some elec­tri­fy­ing young talent emerg­ing, strong grass­roots growth and a steady range of qual­ity events.”–
