Racing can build confidence and fitness. Select two to four events throughout the season as stepping-stones to your ultimate goal. Although you need to arrive somewhat rested, ready and focused, you have a bigger picture objective so can be a little more relaxed than for your “A” race. Use the racing process to learn, ref lect and assess your preparation. The outcome can help you tweak your training with emphasis on whatever discipline needs improvement. Be competitive with purpose and set your intention on the big picture.
