FOR COMFORT, FIT, training and performance gains, the Dutch wetsuit company Dare2tri offers a line of products with an ideal blend of f lexibility and buoyancy. Set a swim PB with the Mach4 wetsuit or boost your pull with the neoprene swimshort.

Dare2tri Mach4 $550

The Mach4 is a higher-end suit that allows for excellent flexibility thanks to its overall 5 mm thickness and strategically-placed Super Stretch panelling in key areas. Triathletes will love the aqua grip panels at the ankle and wrist cuffs which provide enough water-gripping to aid with strong and powerful strokes. We loved the on-top-of-the-water feel of this suit. The fusion of the side stability panelling and the front body Alpha Speed grooves help maintain ideal body positioning and balance in the water. We didn’t feel like we were fighting the water in the Mach4, but like we were gliding instead. Dare2tri leaves no detail forgotten with a water-blocking, double layer “no chafe” collar (particularly helpful for ocean swims) and exit panels just above the heel to aid with the quickest transitions possible. For those wondering how a thinner suit would fare in cooler temperatures, the Mach4 kept us warm during testing in a crisp 12 C Lake Ontario.

Dare2rtri Neoprene Swimshort $70

Triathletes who struggle with keeping their hips high in the water will love the new Dare2tri Neoprene Swimshort. An alternative to the standard pull buoy, the shorts provide extra buoyancy through the waist and central body allowing athletes to free up attention to their stroke. But, unlike the pull buoy, the shorts enable a smooth lift in the water as they come to just above the knee yielding more balance and support. The shorts are unisex in sizing but a tie-waist ensures a snug fit and the 5 mm thick 39 cell super stretch Smoothskin neoprene is both aquadynamic and comfortable. The shorts are excellent for simulating a wetsuit swim in the pool. They are easy to take on and off between sets, too.–
