Getting caught in the rain is never any fun, but now you can happily head out for a ride when there’s a chance of rain and not have to worry about being ill-prepared. We’re huge fans of the workmanship and performance qualities of Castelli’s clothing and the new IDRO jacket promises more of the same. The anatomic, snug fit is optimized for your riding position and won’t slow you down at all. The water-proof zipper slides easily, while elastic bindings on the cuff and hem will keep the jacket in place. There’s even a zipped opening on the back for easy access to pockets and extra ventilation.

Where this jacket separates itself from other lightweight rain jackets is the fact that it incorporates Gore-tex fabric that stops the water on the outer layer of the jacket but still provides lots of air flow, so you’ll stay comfortable even during the hardest of efforts or climbs. The Castelli engineers have even figured out how to fully tape the seams of the jacket so water can’t seep through. Typically water-repelling jackets like this are relatively bulky, but the 123 g IDRO jacket folds down to fit into half a jersey pocket, so it’s a no brainer to carry it along with you.
