Although it’s been around for a while now, the popular virtual reality cycling program has taken off of late, offering a number or racing events each day, more cycling courses, group rides and lots of training programs. In case you haven’t tried it out, Zwift, which is inspired by the world of gaming, runs you through a virtual course that sees your effort power an avatar across the screen. Age groupers aren’t the only ones who have become addicted to training on the platform. Last year, a number of Canada’s national cycling team found themselves riding the same course at the same time, turning a regular training ride into a full-fledged race. All you need to get on to Zwift is a compatible trainer (or a set of rollers and your own power meter), an Ant+ adaptor and a computer, and you’re off to the races or your next fun workout, which ever you’d like.
