Police have closed the file on a hit-and-run case in Wendover with the arrest of an Ottawa man. Brian Dorion, 34, is charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm and failing to stop and remain at an accident scene involving bodily harm. The charges followed three weeks of police investigation of a hit-and-run incident Aug. 18 on County Road 17 in Wendover between an eastbound Kia and a blue two-door Mazda 3, also headed east. The Mazda made an illegal pass on the right of the Kia, hit the car, making it lose control and veer onto the westbound lane into the path of an oncoming truck. The woman driving the Kia was treated for serious injuries and remains in hospital at present. Dorion is in custody pending a Sept. 10 bail hearing in provincial court in L’Orignal.
