Hit-and-run ar­rest

Po­lice have clo­sed the file on a hit-and-run case in Wen­do­ver with the ar­rest of an Ottawa man. Brian Do­rion, 34, is char­ged with dan­ge­rous dri­ving cau­sing bo­di­ly harm and fai­ling to stop and re­main at an ac­ci­dent scene in­vol­ving bo­di­ly harm. The charges fol­lo­wed three weeks of po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tion of a hit-and-run in­ci­dent Aug. 18 on Coun­ty Road 17 in Wen­do­ver bet­ween an east­bound Kia and a blue two-door Maz­da 3, al­so hea­ded east. The Maz­da made an ille­gal pass on the right of the Kia, hit the car, ma­king it lose con­trol and veer on­to the west­bound lane in­to the path of an on­co­ming truck. The wo­man dri­ving the Kia was trea­ted for se­rious in­ju­ries and re­mains in hos­pi­tal at present. Do­rion is in cus­to­dy pen­ding a Sept. 10 bail hea­ring in pro­vin­cial court in L’Ori­gnal.
