Cou­gars win and lose over the wee­kend

The Vank­leek Hill Cou­gars lost their home game Sa­tur­day night against the Pa­pi­neau­ville Vi­kings 7-2, but beat the Mor­ris­burg Lions the next day 8-4, in Mor­ris­burg.

The Cou­gars sco­red their points against the Vi­kings in first and third per­iod. Pa­pi­neau­ville do­mi­na­ted first per­iod with five goals sco­red, then co­oled off on their sco­ring with their last two points ta­ken in se­cond per­iod, and going wi­thout any more goals in third.

Charles Doyon sco­red both goals for Vank­leek Hill with as­sists from Ni­ko­las Ayotte, Marc-An­toine Doyon, and Ri­ley Sau­vé. Sé­bas­tien Mo­reau and Do­mi­nik Tur­cotte sha­red goal­kee­ping du­ties.

Sco­ring two goals each for the Vi­kings were Jus­tin Labrosse and Ma­thieu La­pointe. Ad­ding single points were Ni­co­las Loyer, Hu­go Lu­si­gnan, and Ja­cob Os­borne. Goals as­sists came from La­pointe, Loyer, Os­borne, Owen Fre­nette, Si­mon Hu­pé, Pas­cal Le­blanc, Xa­vier Ma­ren­gère, and Dan­ny Plourde-Gre­non. Yan­nick Gos­se­lin guar­ded the Pa­pi­neau­ville net.

Ryan Al­len al­most pul­led off a double-hat trick against Mor­ris­burg, sco­ring five goals for the Cou­gars and as­sis­ting on ano­ther. So­lo goals came from Ty­ler Do­pel­ha­mer, Charles Doyon, and Ri­ley Sau­vé. Al­so as­sis­ting on goals were Do­pel­ha­mer, Doyon, Sau­vé, Ni­cko­las Ayotte, Ron­nie Boots, Ty­ler Druce, and Charles-Oli­vier Por­te­lance. Do­mi­nik Tur­cotte guar­ded the Cou­gars’ net.

Brian Lan­dry sco­red two points for Mor­ris­burg with Kirk Gau­vreau and Ja­cob Ken­drick ac­coun­ting for the re­mai­ning goals. As­sists came from Ken­drick, Ja­kob Dow­ney, Tho­mas Our­der­kirk. An­tho­ny Pace, and Bren­nan Re­vell. Dean Gau­vreau was the Lions’ net­min­der.

The Cou­gars host the Cla­rence Creek Cas­tors Dec. 9, then go to St-Isi­dore Sun­day.
