ELECTION SIGNAGE RULE

Tribune Express - - ACTUALITES - NEWS -

Candidates running in the Champlain Township civic election can start putting their election signs up around the municipality. Township council reviewed a request during its August 7 meeting for permission to include campaign signage as part of a float entry in the Vankleek Hill Fair parade this week. The current municipal bylaw does not allow election signage along public roadways until after September 1. Council members debated whether or not the bylaw needed revising but decided in the end that it covers all election signage, whether stationary or moving, and turned down the request. – Gregg Chamberlain
