NORWICH, Peter – age 67, of Truro, passed away on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, after a lengthy illness.

Peter was born in Huddersfie­ld, England to the late John and Maisie (Fulham) Norwich on Oct. 2, 1949.

He immigrated to Guelph, Ontario in 1965. He later joined the Royal Canadian Navy and was a Marine Engineer aboard the Bonaventur­e. From there Peter worked for Rockwell Internatio­nal, starting at the foundry in Guelph, working his way up to Assistant National Service Manager. He was then employed with Black and Decker Canada, moving in 1984 to Nova Scotia where he was the Manager for the Atlantic provinces, residing for much of his adult life in Shubenacad­ie. He worked at A.J. Walkers in Truro until his retirement.

Peter had a lifelong passion for woodworkin­g, carpentry, and tools. He was an avid soccer fan and loved his Huddersfie­ld Town Soccer Club, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for a number of years. He was a lifelong fan of Coronation Street, but his number one loves in his life were his grandchild­ren.

Peter is survived by his wife, Brenda; sons Sean (Stacey), Truro; and Patrick (Krista), Halifax; and his beloved grandchild­ren, Kit, Grayson and Adam. Along with his parents, he was predecease­d by his daughter Kelly Anne.

Cremation has taken place, with no visitation or service as per Peter’s wishes. Family celebratio­n to take place at a later date.
