Lacrosse/rugby camp for girls slated for next week

The Truro Minor Lacrosse Association and Truro Saints Rugby Club are combining forces to give local girls an opportunity to learn the sports in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Girls Sports Day 2017 will happen Wednesday, June 28 at the Douglas Street Recreation Centre. The free event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is open to girls in grades 6 to 9.

Meghan McEachern, junior development co-ordinator for the Truro Saints Rugby Club, and Catherine Delaney, female co-ordinator for the Truro Bearcats Lacrosse Association, are head instructors for the day.

Delaney said the event will focus on fun and learning the basic fundamentals of each game.

The deadline to register is Monday. Register by emailing Delaney at delaney.catherine@hotmail.com.

Participants are asked to bring their own lunch, drinks and snacks.
