100 Women Who Care set to choose next fund­ing re­cip­i­ent

One of three lo­cal char­i­ties will find out on Tues­day if they will be the next bene­fac­tor of the 100 Women Who Care group in Truro.

The three char­i­ties nom­i­nated for the Sept. 5 meet­ing in­clude the Boys and Girls Club of Truro/ Colch­ester, the VON of Colch­ester and Hubtown Cobe­quid Arts Coun­cil.

The group that is se­lected will re­ceive a min­i­mum of $10,000 in fund­ing to be spent within the lo­cal community.

The meet­ing is be­ing held at the Rath Eastlink Community Cen­tre (RECC) with the re­cep­tion and reg­is­tra­tion to take place at 5 p.m. The meet­ing be­gins promptly at 6 p.m. with ad­journ­ment slated for no later than 7 p.m.

Reg­is­tra­tion is on­go­ing and can be done by con­tact­ing the group prior to the meet­ing at 100wo­m­en­truro@gmail.com or dur­ing the reg­is­tra­tion pe­riod at the RECC.

The meet­ing will also in­clude an up­date from the Truro Home­less Out­reach So­ci­ety on the funds they re­ceived at the last ses­sion in June. As well, the names will be re­vealed of the can­di­dates to be con­sid­ered for the next meet­ing in De­cem­ber.
